STUCK TO ME

Thursday, January 14, 2016

6-10PM

Location:

Factory 413

413 South Fairfax Avenue

Los Angeles, CA 90036

Mark Oblow is proud to have his first solo opening at Factory 413 in Los Angeles, California on Thursday, January 14 from 6-10pm.

Sponsored by Stance, The Impossible Project, What YouthThunderking Brewing Co and House Beer.

His opening art show will be followed by a private reception hosted by No Name at 432 North Fairfax Avenue (across from Supreme) from 10pm-1am with DJ's Atiba and Ako Jefferson.

An acute eye for photography, fashion and design, a natural trajectory towards utilizing all of his creative tools to make his own artwork has been a constant and evolving thread throughout his life.

He draws inspiration from his connections and relationships with people whereby turning his captured images into multi-layered, multi-media pieces which includes photography, stencil, block prints and resin, incorporating them all into his work. He continuously explores...expanding and immortalizing the people, places and objects he captures into stark and beautiful finished pieces.

Mark Oblow was born and raised on the island of Oahu in Hawaii and sponsored for both surfing and skateboarding in the 80's (Vision, Independent, OJ Wheels, Jimmy Z). In addition, Oblow's creative spark was clear when he picked-up the camera and had his first paid photograph published in Thrasher Magazine as a teenager.

Oblow is featured in books by Tom Adler to David Carson and in magazines such as GQ, Contrast and What Youth. He has a weekly column called, “Back Den” posted on the What Youth website.

His namesake brand, "moblow" was released this past fall in 2015 with great reception.

Tommy Guerrero's New Album, "Perpetual" Available October 30, 2015

Tommy Guerrero continues to expand his horizons while upholding his San Francisco Bay heritage. Starting from the Bones Brigade skate team in the 80’s, he has gone on to make movie appearances, design for Levi’s in Japan, Vans shoes worldwide, Sutro eyewear (among others), sign a skateboard contract with Converse, co-found Real Skateboards and 40’s Clothing and become art director for Krooked Skateboarding, along with maintaining a prolific recording schedule.

Tommy’s intent for Perpetual is “to strip the tunes down and create more of an atmosphere than being concerned with writing ‘songs’... The other idea [is] to abandon the damn computron and record everything on my Tascam 388 1/4" 8 track tape machine. The limitations with an old tape deck were welcomed with open arms - … I gotta say this is one of my faves and hope people will connect with what I [am] trying to convey. Music is all about an emotional response for me... I hope it resonates with you in a positive way.”

Tommy’s music has been heard in commercials for Mt Dew, DC Shoes, Sony Bravia, Pocari Sweat, Clif Bars, Freixenet, Miller Lite and more; in HBO’s Bored To Death, Bones Brigade, Sprout, Red Bull’s Creators of Tomorrow, All Things Must Pass, Todd Oldham’s Hand Made Modern, etc

THIS ALBUM IS A CONTINUATION OF THE JAPAN VERSION “PERPETUUM”.
