Look At What The Light Did Now

Hello Friends!

I'm sending you this notice to let you know about this film I've been working on (design, handmade credit design, and I'm in the film). It's a documentary on the singer Feist called, "Look at What the Light Did Now". It has just started screening around the world and I feel like you would really enjoy/appreciate this film. Check for screenings here. The screening that I will be attending is November 9. In Berkeley, California. It is open to the public and space is limited. It will be held at the Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive on Tuesday, November 9 at 7:15pm. I've been working on this project for 1 1/2 years now.

This sceening is special because along with the director and Feist and a hushed performance by Little Wings (Kyle Field) of the song the film's name was inspired from, most of us will be doing a Q & A after. Tickets available through the Feist site. (link below)- $10. general admission.

Short Description:
Look at What the Light Did Now documents the journey of Feist’s Grammy nominated album “The Reminder”. This poetic film pulls back the curtain to reveal intimate partnerships with the people Feist calls her ‘amplifiers’: The photographer who helped her hide within the frame, shadow puppeteers in hockey arenas, an artist who built a thread-radiating mural, the video director who conducted fireworks, the pianist who guided the recording of the album, and other musical and visual collaborators. The film follows Feist and her supporting cast through an impressionistic array of flickering scenery, echoing stadiums, puppet workshops, the red carpet, a crumbling French mansion, definitive concert performances and uncommonly candid interviews. Itself a part of the creative mosaic it portrays, Look At What The Light Did Now illuminates the synergy of collaboration, art as magnifying glass, and the power of trust.

MAKR Carry Goods

Jon Campbell came by the Solitary Arts office and brought a deck he wanted to setup as a complete.  Coincidently, the deck was made by our friend, Jason Gregory.  Jason owns and operates MAKR... the purveyor of handmade leather carry goods, all designed and crafted in the USA. Jason is a skater so he combined both his passion for skating and leather-making with this deck and leather-riser set.  Yup, leather risers!

8.4 x 31.75 x 15 (Wheel-Base) and a great shape!  Click here to grab one.

Along with the MAKR deck, Jon built his complete with 58mm 87a Drifters Wheels, ACE Trucks, SA Steely Bearings, and Robot Guts Hardware.
