Ian Johnson: May 9 @ White Walls, San Francisco

I have more of Ian Johnson’s artwork in my home than any other artist’s work. I’ve been an appreciator since the inception of his skateboard company, Western Edition ten years ago.

The first artshow at 3131 Clement was initialized and named by Ian and I’m honored to have that experience with him (he also designed the 3131 numeral-logo).

Coming up on May 9 at White Walls in San Francisco, the solo opening reception for Ian Johnson and his “New Works” will be presented.

Saturday, May 9
7-11PM at:

White Walls
835 Larkin Street
San Francisco, California

Yesterday, I was generously gifted with the full, 5 piece deck series by Ian for Western Edition, inspired by the 50th Anniversary recording year for Miles Davis’, “Kind Of Blue.” Mahalo, Ian…

SLAP posted a short interview and discusses the deck project and lunch, in brief. Photographs and interview by our friend, Isaac McKay-Randozzi
