Don Pendleton and "The Jaws Of Life - Lamentations On Loss"

Don Pendleton currently has a show... at his elephont.com site of paintings he's recently completed under the title, "The Jaws Of Life - Lamentations On Loss." 27 amazing pieces for the show are for sale with details available here.

Don's been one of the most supportive folks out there for the Solitary Arts and I can't thank him enough! - Yong-Ki

Below, a selection of photos of Don wearing various S.A. shirts. Mahalo!

Piano Pinner in Black

Isaac McKay-Randozzi and Jerry Beitzell continue their, "Skate Tested" feature with this round attacking the Solitary Arts Piano Pinner in black.  Yup, we've made our 9 ply Piano Pinner fully dipped in black and hand-screened with the same Geoff McFetridge graphic, reversed.  Included with these completes are ACE Trucks "00" as well as options for either 13" or 14" wheelbase. You also get a wheel-choice with either Black Eggs in 50mm 87a (soft) or White Yolks in 54mm 100a! (hard).  Thanks to Jerry for shredding the Pinner and to Isaac for his video/edit.

Check more of Isaac's feature of the Piano Pinner at Color Magazine.

Dieter Rams-Inspired Television

My friend, Craig Steely sent me this photo of his son, Zane who built himself a television, quite possibly inspired by Dieter Rams' recent visit to their home in San Francisco.  Dieter Rams' exhibit at the SFMOMA until February 20, 2012.

From Korea, With Love

Kyoo Jin in Korea ordered some trucks and wheels and I added a quick note asking him to take pictures as I was curious to see what setup he was building since he ordered some Drifters.  Needless to say, his DIY project is quite thorough and the finish looks amazing and really fun to whip around on.  Thanks for the photos and the inspiration!  How's the cork-top grip!

Below, Kyoo Jin's neighborhood in Korea, his local surf spot, the family grounds and rolling with his nephew! For more, check-out Paddle, Pedal, Push

Geoff McFetridge and Heath

Geoff has a show called, "My Head Disappears When My Hands Are Thinking" that is opening this Saturday at Heath Ceramics. Much of the show is ceramic pieces he did with Heath (pots, bowls, entire place setting, and coins) that he will show alongside new drawings and paintings. The opening is this coming Saturday, November 12, with reception from 5 to 8pm, in Los Angeles.

Thalia Surf Shop

I'm really happy to have Thalia Surf Shop as a new retailer for us. We now have a solid surf shop down in Laguna Beach, California that carry the full breadth of the Solitary Arts with both skate hardgoods and t-shirts. Mahalo to Corey for the genuine support and stoke for the Solitary Arts as well as the box of fine t-shirts from the Thalia family!

Northern California/Oregon Coast Trip

We recently went on a 5 day road/camp/skate trip and had a blast!  It's great to just goof-it sometimes and enjoy the company of your friends and the ability to get a few turns going with them (16 parks in 5 days in Northern California and along the Oregon coastline).  Thanks to Bob Lake, Scott McPherson, Tara Jepsen, and Victor Yanez for an epic time!
