STANCE and Kingman!

Ryan Kingman once again blessed me with a box of STANCE socks. I've thrown-out all my inferior socks and only rock STANCE... Mahalo Kingman!

Mike and Hale Giles

Mike Giles is one of the owners at Furni in Montreal and is the proud father of Hale Giles.  He sent these photos from his work desk and one with Hale on a Piano Pinner with a moon patch on her denim sleeve. So cute!  Mahalo guys!

Gold & Red

Green Quarters at The Dish

Bob Lake noticed a couple of wooden additions to his neighborhood skate-spot, the San Francisco landmark, Dish up in Bayview/Hunter's Point. Outlaw Johnny Baise photo below of Bob hucking a frontside grabber off of one on a Tommy Guerrero board (custom Alva-inspired spray job) and a Butchertown shirt.  Classic... and with that, a classic video attached as well.

Rip Zinger at Arrow & Beast in Stuttgart, Germany

On October 13th, Rip will have a photo exhibition at Arrow & Beast entitled, "Tour De France", in Stuttgart, Germany.  If you find yourself in Germany this week, be sure to say hello to Rip for us.  Also, check-out the Solitary Arts goods at Arrow & Beast, as they are one of our fine skate shop retailers.

A Product Of Design with The Solitary Arts

Bob Lake, Jef Hartsel, Isaac McKay-Randozzi and myself went down to Atwater Village to visit Geoff McFetridge and Aaron Carretti as part of the installation week we spent in Los Angeles for A Product Of Design at SCION gallery in Culver City.  Geoff used the same india-ink he used for the original Curb Thief artwork and made a 9ft, free-standing, 3-layered relief piece for the Solitary Arts inclusion into the product show.  We spent a full day at the gallery and finished majority of the work together as a family and had time to spare to skate a few choice spots each day.  More to come on those skate missions!  By the way, the show ends this Saturday, October 8th so get there as all of the artwork is on sale including both the Big Red and the new Black Piano Pinner.  The space has a 0% commission policy so all of the artwork sold will go directly back to each member of the Solitary Arts. Mahalo for your support!

Below, 1/2 of the curating team, Gluekit,  Christopher Sleboda putting the finishing touches via vinyl-lettering by the Colophon Foundry (they were also part of this show).

We stole Geoff's hand-painted curb from his studio and used it to secure the 9ft Curb Thief at the gallery space.
